Learn To Cycle

Cycling should be for everybody

One of our most popular courses is our Learn to Cycle program. This program gives children with additional needs the opportunity to learn to cycle in a fun and safe environment.  This program is very popular with children on the autism spectrum and in ASD units. 

The aim of the program is to get children cycling independently by setting small achievable goals which eventually lead to them cycling. 

We help them build confidence in their ability to cycle, learn how to balance and stride and then eventually cycle. 

We achieve this firstly by believing in them and then setting them small tasks that we know they can achieve with practice. We gain their trust which allows us to encourage them to believe and achieve. 

Each child learns differently and at their own pace. So we are always keen to have a chat to the children before hand and their parents/carers so as we can make the course as positive as we can for the children. 

Seeing the look of disbelief and the sense of achievement on a child’s face when they cycle on their own is total job satisfaction!

Our fun fitness classes allow children and adults to get fit, improve agility, strength, balance, coordination, social skills, listening skills, communication skills, flexibility and much more. We develop activities that will help improve gross and fine motor skills, hand eye coordination, develop coping mechanisms, improve concentration and locomotor skills. We also focus on building self-confidence and increasing self-esteem for all the participants in our classes. The best thing is that all of this happens unbeknownst to them because they are just having fun.
